Top 10 General Benefits of Links + Benefits of 15 Specific Link Building Techniques

Below we’ll first discuss the general benefits of links and link building, then we’ll get into the specifics.

  1. General Benefits of Links and Link Building
  2. Benefits of Specific Link Building Techniques

A History:
Links are the foundation of the internet and were the original functionality of web pages. The ‘http‘ in your address bar refers to ‘hyper-text-transfer-protocol’ - ‘hyper-text’ is links. Links are what distinguish the internet from other forms of documentation / communication in that internet documents can be ‘linked‘ - from and to any other available document.

No, it’s not a Google horror story. Well, maybe not… but MicroSoft is sure pulling a biggie with their announcement of a new product they’re working on called Photosynth, based on SeaDragon technology.

It WILL revolutionize the way we see the web. Literally. As best as I can understand from seeing the demo video, the system reads pixels from images that have the same subject in them, and overlays them to create ‘3-dimensionable’ images, map overlays, layered renderings, and apparently, much more.

From the Photosynth demo site:

“…takes a large collection of photos of a place or an object, analyzes them for similarities, and displays them in a reconstructed three-dimensional space.”

They actually offer a preview demo of the technology that requires a 5.5Mb download to view. It was so mind-blowing, I wish there were time machines because I can’t wait for the future to arrive so I can use this NOW. I was SHOCKED while I was using this. The implications are mind bending, but we’ll talk about that in a second. Before you download the demo, get a bit of a background by watching a public demo at a TEDtalks convention.

Watch the video, you’ll go - WOW, at least once. Try the zoom feature - the detail is incredible.

Hosting & Domain Name Resources

by: SEOspring Comments Off

Here are some inexpensive and fairly good to deal with hosting companies that we use for our various clients and projects. All of these hosting companies can host a WordPress blog.

DIRECTORY MAIN MENU

HOSTING & DOMAIN NAME RESOURCES

ALL of these hosting companies have features that allow you to host a WordPress blog. Requirements are PHP and MySQL access.

BlueHost Hosting & Domain Names - RECOMMENDED
We use Bluehost for many of our own and client websites. Very easy to use, excellent customer support, and has all the features you’ll ever need, and more. Offers great deals on multiple domain hosting.

1&1 Web Hosting & Domain Names
We have used 1&1 for a few of our websites and have only a small complaint that customer service was a little slow in helping us out. That was a while ago though. We host all of our Outlook Email web hosting at 1&1. Many special add-ons for your site available.

Dot5 Web Hosting & Domain Names
Cheap, easy to use, has all the features you’ll need, and decent customer support.

Dotster.com Web Hosting & Domain Names
Cheap, easy to use, has all the features you’ll need, and decent customer support.

Korax Web Hosting & Domain Names
We have been using Korax for over 5 years for our primary hosting. They are VERY expensive, but offer far superior suctomer service. We have developed a close relationship with the guys at Korax, and they always go above the call of duty whenever we need any specialty web server configurations done.

Google AdSense is probably the most prolific and easy to implement of all the affiliate type ‘make money online’ schemes. It is actually called ‘contextual advertising’, meaning, that the ads that get served on your pages will be totally relevant to the CONTEXT of the content of your page. So, if your page is about ‘golf clubs’, the special code you implement will only (most of the time) display golf club ads.

What is RSS?

by: SEOspring (1) Comment - Leave Yours!

RSS BUTTONNo, this is not our logo, rotated…
If you study it closely, you’ll notice that our logo signifies the ‘virtually flowing spring of information’ symbolized in the background waterfall image in the bottom right. The RSS symbol <- to the left - signifies the ‘broadcasting’ effect that RSS has and is intended for.

Depending on your camp - RSS means “Really Simple Syndication” - or - “Rich Site Syndication”.

Why Join SEOspring?

A ‘virtually flowing spring of SEO and online marketing information’…

Not only is it like ordering a steak and getting it cooked EXACTLY how you wanted it - with just enough side veggies to get caught in your teeth - but your server is kinda cute AND brings you a big heaping chocolate double freak-out for desert to show you how appreciative they are that you are such a great customer and that they could serve you… it’s like, you’ll also get lots of good, fresh SEO information, soaked with bucketloads of online marketing tips, tricks, tools and resources.

Why SEO - AND online marketing?

Well, SEO used to be: “What you need to do to your site to get better rankings”. Now, SEO is: “What you need to do to get better rankings”. See the difference? It has expanded PAST your site - far past. And because online marketing usually means “What you need to do to get better traffic“, it usually involves some very aggressive tactics that gets users interested, engaged, involved, and loyal. And because of those things, search engines love and reward aggressive online marketing - so SEO and online marketing have kinda become the same thing.

Why?

Because aggressive online marketing usually provides;

  1. consistently new content
  2. consistent user engagement
  3. creative technological innovations
  4. visitor interest / high traffic (search engines can mine this data and develop behavioral traffic models from)
  5. advertising revenues
  6. other stuff that I can’t think of but you should leave a comment if you feel is valuable….

Many will argue against the “SEO = online marketing” theory, but wouldn’t you agree that if you just focus on an aggressive online marketing strategy - you’ll usually (meaning: in time) end up accomplishing many of the tasks required to achieve good search engine rankings and traffic?

Here’s just one factor to substantiate this claim: A good online marketing strategy usually ends up in many links being generated to the subject site. …Get links. That’s RULE #1 of SEO .

I rest my case.

JOIN NOW. Or, read more about what you’ll get…

GET ACCESS TO OUR MEMBERS ONLY BLOG & RSS FEEDS
Oh, you’ll also get to access our rss feeds (we’re not going to send any emails out, spam these days is ridiculous - get an rss reader) for daily updates on all the stuff we talk about here.

GET PRODUCT AND WEBSITE REVIEWS - SO YOU DON’T HAVE TO DO IT
OMG. If you had to check out (like we do) every single product, service, tool, resource, website, scam, and tavern that deals with SEO and online marketing - you would need to alter the physics of reality to duplicate yourself exponentially faster than the actual internet is growing. We don’t suggest you attempt this - it will be difficult. Instead, let us do it for you, we figured out how to do it last year but it’s a secret and that’s part of what you’re paying for.

MOST IMPORTANTLY…
You’ll get access to our TOP SECRET SEO & ONLINE MARKETING RESOURCE LIST. With this list you can literally dominate the world. But like everything else, what you get out of it - is directly proportional to what you put into it.

Here’s what the list has (like virtually everything you’ll need about getting traffic and making money online!):

  2. ftp resources
  3. blog resources
  4. making money online courses
